August 6th Snapshot

There are times in my life when I wish I could hit the big pause button. And after watching a wife say goodbye to her husband of 55 years suddenly in the middle of the night last night, I had one of those moments driving home this early morning.

Curt
My husband. I love when he comes home from work each day. He has been working crazy, finishing this new dorm building at the U., working 8-12 hrs a day, 6 days a week. When the girls are awake, they get so excited when he gets home. Zoey yells DADDA! and Reegan wants to hurry out and drive his truck. And he comes in, covered in head to toe dirt and mud, and is so soft and sweet with these two lil girls that have him around their pinkies. If the girls are sleeping, he tiptoes in, and sometime, lets me nap for longer, which is AMAZING~

Reegan.
Man has she gotten big the last few weeks. We had the infamous " I am scared of your room" incident a few weeks ago, where she wouldn't come in our bedroom because of the funny noise she heard. I for the life of me couldn't figure out what noise she was trying to hard to describe. Alas, it was our Automatic scent dispenser, that sprayed every 8 minutes downstairs. She has been crawling in to be with me more and more lately. Sometimes hard to get to bed because she wants to sleep with us. Friday night she ended up in my bed 4 times! I let her sleep with me for like a half hr after I got home from work, and then Curt got up for work, and I had him put her back to bed. Then about 4 hrs later, i got up to go to the bathroom, and came back to bed to find someone snoring. Yup, red has snuck back down and was sleeping under Curts blankets. Too sweet. She has been infatuated with our neighbor boy, Zhalick, and loves going to the library with him Monday and Weds. She cries when she has to leave to come home. :)

She has become so polite lately too. Still whining, but she is working on that. Started doing addition/subtraction with me, and LOVES it. She isn't as much of a fish lately, not beggin to swim all day, and not jumping in like crazy. But, she has engaged in more self play, imaginary friend play. I haven't heard much about Chewy lately.

Oh Chewy. Reegan is convinced that I am pregnant ( i am not) with her brother, that she is going to name Chewy. And the things that Chewy has been doing. She talks of him often, and I started using him against her. " If you aren't gonna clean up those toys, I will give them to Chewy" " Mom, Chewy can have Zoey's bed, and Zoey can sleep on her floor" Nice Red.

Zoey
Man, she has changed the most in the past few weeks. Attitude, lots of time outs. She gets frustrated alot, and will stop and slap things. I put her in timeout, to which she says " All done" and get up. She usually eats a ton, and hasn't been lately. perhaps she is getting some teeth in. She watches everything Reegan does, and wants to do it too. Has identified that sometimes Reegan leaves and does some things, and she gets mad. She like to play in the toy room. And has mastered the stairs, and climbing up on chairs and such. she did take a tumble down the stairs last week, which taught her to be more careful.

She loves to sing. ABC and Twinkle Twinkle are her favorites. And to hear her sing them are priceless. She falls asleep singing them, and wake up singing them. So sweet. She melts my heart daily. She loves to cuddle. Grabs her two blankies, and cuddles. When she puts her attitude away, she is the sweetest happiest lil girl. Loud, but sweet. :)

My family

I am so blesssed that I have my family around me. My parents and sisters across the road, grandparents in town, grandparents half hour away. My girls adore the time with them, as I am sure they do. Reegan loves going across the road to hang with Grandma treat, and asks daily multiple times. My dad helps with the girls, in the am so I can nap, before gets home from work. Curt's parents love to come visit the girls, usually bringing candy and ice cream. So now, when we don't have ice cream, Reegan knows it time for Papa to come visit.

Life is good. And ever changing. Must savor every moment. :)
