Books, and grandparents

We were lucky enough to spend the lunch time with my grandpa Hovde, and the lovely Grandma Kathy. We had to cancel our lunch date on Tuesday due to the viral illness that is stuck in our house. So today was highly anticipated on all fronts. Grandpa and Kathy came for lunch, as did my Mom. As soon as Grandpa was here, Reegan had him trapped in her bedroom reading books. After lunch, we enjoyed a cool afternoon, with books again.

Then after dinner, Grandpa and Grandma Kulzer stopped over for ice cream to celebrate Grandma's birthday ( how lucky are we?) They brought a whole sundae for each of us.

Then we headed outside. It wasn't that dark yet.........

And our night ended the way it started....by bookside. :)

Lucky girls we are to have 4 great grandparents, and 4 grandparents that all live in close proximity, and we get to love on daily. We are missing Papa and Nanny, who just returned home from Hawaii. We will catch up with them as soon as Nanny is better, and our viral crud is further away. Don't wanna spread the illness. Speaking of that, I better start disinfecting all the books we read today. :)

Outside Monday.........

Its a overcast Monday, but warm, like 70's. So the girls and I headed outside.

Papa and Reegan putting on the training wheels! This bike came from the Paitl family. (Thank you!)

Trying it out, "its too hard"

Posing for a pic. Its hard to not pedal backwards~

Notice Zoey's face. She is already not sure about this thing, or Reegan's driving skills

I DON'T LIKE THIS!

A future vison of Zoey's view on Reegan's driving. :)

Grandpa, Dad.

Sunday the girls and I ventured up to my dad's business, his nursery, "The Shed"

The girls absolutely adore my dad. He lights up at the very mention of his grand-daughters, and smiles the biggest smile ever at their sight. Reegan knows she has him wrapped around her lil pinky, and Zoey yells and screams in delight when she sees him, and holds on tight to him when he is around.

My heart melts at the thought of my dad. He will do anything, for anyone. He has a sense of humor like no other ( except Erin, for she got his sense of humor too) He has a perspective on life's issues that always provides clarity for me. From simple problems to the big ones, he is the second opinion I always sought. I could not imagine a better dad for myself, or grandfather for my girls. He may be a man of few words to people who don't know him, but I can see everything he wants to say, will say, or has said, in his eyes. And his smile.

100th Post! Spring has sprung~

As I sit here writing to you, my faithful (or not) follower, I am amazed at the beautiful weather. It is 63 degrees out, all my windows are open with an amazing breeze, and my tulips are blooming! So as MY tulips are napping so they can grow big and tall and sassy, my Dad's tulips that he shared with us are beautiful! Had to play with my camera some~

(Imagine picture of Curt sleeping here)

Zoo much fun :)

Tuesday the girls and ventured into the cities. We had some retail therapy at Kohls, then headed to the MN Zoo. Bonus is 0-2years old is free admission, so makes it worth it! It was a beautiful day, and it was 60 degrees when we got to the zoo. We ditched our coats, and sported sweatshirts, and glasses.

This girl is CRAZY for the penguins. We could have stayed there for hours~

Despite Zoey not being in a ton of the pics, she had a blast. She loved trying to walk everywhere/crawling everywhere. She was so dirty by the time we left.

And back to the penguins!!

This penguin loved Reegan. He followed her were ever she went throughout the exhibit. She has been obsessed with penguins for months, this guy following her just made her love them that much more!
